We Started with Bikes. Then We Made Coffee.

Well, not exactly. But the story connects more than you'd think.

  • It Started with Goodbye Cycle

Goodbye Cycle was built on a simple idea: great bikes deserve a second life, and the people who ride them deserve to know the story behind what they're buying. We buy, inspect, tune, and sell pre-loved bicycles — and somewhere along the way, coffee kept showing up.

At every bike drop-off, there was a coffee cup. At every tune-up session, there was a pot brewing. At every community ride, someone brought a thermos. Coffee and cycling aren't just adjacent cultures — they're the same culture.

  • So We Built Goodbye Coffee

Goodbye Coffee takes the same philosophy that drives Goodbye Cycle — support the independent, tell the story, keep it honest — and applies it to coffee.

Every month, we partner with a different small independent roaster from somewhere in the country. We don't work with the big guys. We find the roasters who are doing it because they love it — the ones with 15-pound Probats in converted garages, the ones who source their beans directly from farmers, the ones who'd rather roast 50 bags perfectly than 5,000 bags adequately.

We tell their story. We ship their coffee. And you get to discover someone new every month.

  • Support Independent

Every roaster we feature is independently owned and operated. No corporate chains. No private equity rollups. Just people who roast coffee because they believe in doing it well.

  • Tell the Story

Coffee isn't just a commodity. Every bag has a origin, a farmer, a roaster, and a reason. We think knowing that story makes the coffee taste better. So we tell it.

  • Keep It Honest

No gimmicks. No fake scarcity. No "artisanal" buzzwords slapped on a bag. We tell you exactly what you're getting, who made it, and why we picked it.

  • Close the Loop

We're part of the Goodbye family, which means sustainability isn't a marketing angle — it's how we operate. From recycled Mugsy Kits to supporting circular economy practices at Goodbye Cycle, we try to leave things better than we found them.

Meet Mugsy

Mugsy is a coffee cup. A recycled one. He's been with the Goodbye family since the beginning — first showing up in Goodbye Cycle's storytelling videos, then becoming the face (literally) of Goodbye Coffee.

He doesn't say much. He doesn't have hair (unless you buy the kit). But he's here at every coffee tasting, every bike drop-off, and every story recording session. He's the quiet one in the room who somehow makes everything feel a little more human.

You can grow his hair with a Mugsy Kit. Or just let him be bald. He's cool with either.

Goodbye Cycle

Pre-loved bikes. Professionally tuned. Every bike has a story.

Goodbye Coffee

Independent roasters. Monthly discoveries. Every cup has a story.

What They Share

Both brands share the Coffee Mug Stories platform — a place where our community records and shares their stories. Whether it's a ride, a morning ritual, or a memory tied to a cup of coffee, the stories live in one place and belong to everyone.

Andrew Riley

Founder

Mugsy is a recycled coffee cup with big dreams and no hair. Fix that. The Mugsy Kit comes with everything you need — rocks, soil, grass seed, and fertilizer. Plant it, water it, and watch Mugsy's hair grow.

A perfect desk companion, gift, or conversation starter. Made from recycled materials because Mugsy cares about the planet (and his hairline).
